Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are the benefits of original artwork?

A: Original artwork has a timeless, rich, unique element to it, bringing character, beauty, and interest to a space. Though original art often costs more than reproductions, it also can greatly increase in value over time. A cherished piece of original artwork often becomes a family heirloom that can be enjoyed from one generation to the next.

Q:How can I commission a custom painting?

A: It's an easy process to have Ann Candler create a custom painting for you, whether you live in Colorado, across the country, or across the world. The artist has successfully worked with many long-distance clients to create custom paintings to suit their individual tastes. Ann offers excellent, versatile art services, delivered with kindness and professionalism.

Skilled in multiple styles and media, Ann can create a unique and personal image - whether you desire an Impressionist scene of Tuscany or Provence, a scene based on family travel photograph, a whimsical mural of a storybook theme for a child's room, or a striking abstract composition.

First, contact the artist and let her know what type of painting you are interested in. Ann will ask if you have any photograph references of your idea, what style of art you would prefer, what colors and styles are dominant in your home, the size of the artwork, and other relevant questions.

Second, an itemized estimate will be presented to you. Pricing information is also available through the "Commissions" introduction page on this website. (A deposit of one-half of the total artwork estimate is due before Ann begins work on the piece. The deposit can be paid via credit card or by mailing a check to the artist's studio.)

Once the work has begun, you will receive digital photographs at key phases of the painting process via e-mail, or printed photographs via standard mail, if preferred. Changes to the painting, based on your suggestions, can be incorporated during this process.

Ann will work on the painting until you are pleased with the photograph images of the completed piece. The balance of the payment is due upon final approval of the piece - after it is shipped to your home, and you have viewed the painting in-person.

Please ask for a free estimate of a painting that is in a size or style not listed on our “Pricing” page.

Q:How long would it take for Ann to finish a custom painting for me?

To assure that your artwork is completed by the time that you need it, you can request that the artist set aside studio time for your custom piece by contacting her at anncandlerfineart@yahoo.com or (303) 886-4950.

If you are interested in artwork for a child's room, Ann can create whimsical paintings, drawings, and wall murals. Just ask the artist to send you samples of the style of artwork that you are interested in.
